Special arrangements have been made in all schools and at the Collectorate to display the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination results here on Friday.
Minister for School Education Vaigaichelvan is expected to come here to felicitate the toppers. S.Chellam, Joint Director, Kallar Reclamation, is coming here to monitor the arrangements for publication of results.
Nearly eight computer systems of the National Informatics Centre at the Collectorate here and at least a system in each school will be made available for students to see their results and marks on websites: www.dge1.tn.nic.in, www.dge2.tn.nic.in and www.dge3.tn.nic.in
Virudhunagar revenue district is divided into three educational districts, with each having three zones, to ensure that the results sent in sealed covers from the CEO’s Office reach schools in time and marks are displayed on school notice boards exactly at 9.15 a.m. A total of 28,291 students, including 14,055 girls, from this district wrote the SSLC examinations at 79 centres between March 27 and April 12.
The district remained on top in the State in the overall pass per centage consecutively for 26 years till 2011. It had a pass percentage of 95.93 in 2011, 96.41 in 2010, 95.76 in 2009, 95.48 in 2008, 93.69 in 2007 and 90.82 in 2006.
The record was broken by the Tuticorin district in 2012 when Virudhunagar registered a pass per centage of 93.53 only.
The district has no full-time Chief Educational Officer, with Madurai CEO Amudhavalli holding the additional charge of Virudhunagar district. Similarly, there is no a full-time District Educational Officer for Srivilliputtur educational district.
