Course content to focus on teaching relevant domain expertise

CHENNAI: SRM University recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with enterprise-level design engineering services provider CSM Software for providing an advanced programme in virtual product development for automotive applications.

The course content focuses on teaching automotive domain expertise relevant to both automotive and aerospace industries.

CSM software is globally used by aerospace, automotive and heavy engineering industries across the spectrum of basic design to high-end analysis. SRM logistics for the course has been set up for Rs.1 crore. At present, three batches, each with 25 students, are planned.

SRM University Vice Chancellor P. Satyanarayanan said the course would, at present, be optional for engineering students in their third year.

CSM Chief Operating Officer Satya Srikanth described the MoU as the outcome of the increasing demand for readily employable engineering graduates in the high-end segments of two exponentially growing industries.
