BODInaickanur: Cadres belonging to the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam quarrelled with each other over erection of party banners, and picketed the main road in front of Bodi central bus stand on Tuesday. Traffic was disrupted for half an hour.

The DMK men erected a giant banner greeting party's deputy general secretary M.K. Stalin in front of the bus stand after removing one propagating Farmers Protection Scheme erected by the AIADMK men.

The AIADMK workers led by Bodi Municipal vice-chairman, N. Sethuraman, erected the banner again at the bus stand, in front of the DMK banner. The situation became tense as functionaries of both parties quarrelled over removal of banner of the other party.

Additional Superintendent of Police Gnana Pandithan and revenue officials rushed to the spot and appealed to both the party men to settle the issue amicably.

Later, the police and revenue officials held discussion with the party men for a marathon five hours for an amicable settlement.

The police advised both the parties to remove the giant banners and erect two small banners instead.
