Passengers who get down from buses at Tiruvallur Head Post Office on Jawaharlal Nehru Main Road find it very difficult to cross the main road from both sides due to uninterrupted flow of vehicular traffic. I request the authorities concerned to erect to speedbreaker or draw the pedestrian crossing lines at this vantage point at the earliest.
A stop at
St. Thomas Mount
St. Thomas Mount Station is one of the busiest stations on Beach-Tambaram section. However, Express trains to the Southern districts do not stop here.
This inconveniences passengers from Adambakkam, Nanganallur, Madipakkam and Alandur. St. Thomas Mount Station is the meeting point of Beach-Velachery MRTS, Chennai-St. Thomas Mount Metro Railway and Beach-Tambaram Suburban lines. We request Southern Railways to make arrangements for a train stop for future expansions.
N. Raja Rajeswari,
A difficult crossing
Kaliamman Koil Street, a long stretch from Virugambakkam – NSK Salai to Koyambedu market faces a variety of problems. There is no road divider in between the Salai.
The street is a very busy one as in addition to regular traffic, vehicles carrying vegetables, food grains and plantain leaves travel through it.
Additionally two wheelers also ply frequently.
There are no road crossings on the road from western side to eastern side to cross from Elango Nagar to Sayee Nagar and Natesan Nagar to Chinmaya Nagar stage 1.
During peak hours passengers are not able to cross the road.
Shopping complexes and State RTO Office, ATMS of various Banks area are located on this street. There are no automatic traffic signals.
I request the marking of passenger crossings at important points.

Why this apathy?
Our area Senthil Nagar/ Kolathur comes under Zone-VI and Division 65 of the Chennai Corporation. The government had sanctioned pucca tarred roads in all main roads and concrete roads for bus route roads in Kolathur, but our local AE/65 Division and AC Zonal Office IV has not laid a single road till date even though funds were sanctioned 6 months back. Street lights have been upgraded and sanctioned for Senthil Nagar but no lights have been installed. Road cuts are banned on Corporation main roads but in Senthil Nagar, every other day, one or two roads have been dug up by more agencies including Metrowater and Chennai Telephones. I request all the government agencies concerned to pay more attention to the problems of Senthil Nagar residents
