The Lion's Club of Kuzhithurai in association with Tamil Nadu Elephants' Welfare Association conducted a special veterinary camp at Kuzhithurai.

The doctors conducted medical check up to as many as nine elephants including Gopalan belonging to HR & CE at Kuzhithurai. The special camp was inaugurated by the District Forest Officer, Rito Cyriac, on Tuesday.

He said that the district consisted of 30 percent reserved forest and as per the census taken recently there were 70 elephants in the district. The mahouts were training the elephants on their food habits. The president of Lion's Club of Marthandam and Kuzhithurai, Joseph Dhayasingh and Vimal Kumar participated in the camp, at Vaubali thidal.
