MADURAI: The Southern Railway will operate special trains between Madurai and Pollachi on March 17 and 18 to clear passenger rush in view of the Amavasai festival at Masaniamman Temple.

According to a Southern Railway press release, the Madurai-Pollachi special will leave Madurai at 11.45 p.m. on March 17 and reach Pollachi at 5 a.m., the next day.

The Pollachi-Madurai special will leave Pollachi at 11.15 a.m. on March 18 and reach Madurai at 4.15 p.m. The special passenger trains will stop at Sholavandan, Kodaikanal Road, Ambathurai, Dindigul, Oddanchatram, Palani, Maivadi Road and Udamalpet.
