Cooperative Banks in the district will sanction loans to the tune of Rs.50 lakh during the current financial year to differently abled persons.

Priority is being accorded to sanction loans to differently abled persons for taking up economic activities, said Collector Jayashree Muralidharan.

Inaugurating a special camp to receive applications from differently abled here recently, the Collector said that loans would be sanctioned to all eligible persons by the first week of December.

Applications

G. Rajendra Prasad, joint registrar of cooperative societies, said that 267 persons had submitted applications for credit to be sanctioned by the National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation through the cooperative bank.

R. Shyamala, district differently abled welfare officer and P. Prabakaran, general manager of Tiruchi district central cooperative bank spoke.
