To be held soon in remote, inaccessible villages
THENI: Special camps will be held shortly to enable farmers in remote and in inaccessible villages to obtain social security card under Farm Workers’ Social Security Scheme, said Collector P. Muthuveeran.
Disbursing welfare aid to farm workers at a function held here on Wednesday, he said that the district administration had disbursed 3.55 lakh social security cards to farm workers so far.
Besides, several schemes were integrated with an aim of providing more benefits to farm workers.
The objective of conducting special camps was to bring several farmers who have not obtained identity card into security net, he added.
Farmers should utilise such camps and avail the facilities and benefits offered by the state government.
Later, he disbursed welfare aid worth Rs.29.40 lakhs to 309 beneficiaries.
