: A special camp to settle grievances regarding ration cards would be held at the collectorate here on December 8 (Saturday).

According to a release from Collector Darez Ahmed, applications for getting new ration cards, inclusion, deletion and correction of names and also for getting the copies of ration cards would be accepted at the camp. These applications would be distributed free of cost.

All taluk supply officers and revenue inspectors would take part in the camp. Besides, a deputy collector would monitor the proceedings related to each taluk.

Applications seeking new cards could be handed over to Makkal Sevai Maiyam at the ground floor of the collectorate and acknowledgement could be obtained. These applications would be processed and new cards would be issued within 60 days depending upon eligibility.

Those who have applied for cards at the camp held on November 3 need not participate. Results of their petitions had been pasted at the office of the Village Administrative Officer and the taluk office. Of the 2,567 applications received at that camp, 1,196 were settled on the very day.
