Unidentified men stole aluminium wires of nearly 4 km. that transmits low tension power for agriculture purpose in and around Shoolagiri and Veppanahalli in Krishnagiri district for the past three months.

Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) official said on Monday that the theft was noticed behind the Power Grid Corporation's transmission station near Shoolagiri. Nearby villagers informed the TANGEDCO officials and the local police.

It was said that the miscreants toppled 13 electric posts, snapped the wire with a shock proof cutter and escaped. Due to this seven agriculture connections were affected. Officials said lines would be restored to the farmers as soon as possible.

On the basis of complaints from TANGEDCO officials, Shoolagiri Police have registered a case and investigating.

Already a theft was reported in Kattikanapalli near Shoolagiri two months back wherein the culprits were yet to be identified.Another theft was reported at Nachikuppam Eri.
