In special education for cerebral palsy from this academic year

The Spastics Society of Tiruchi will offer a two-year diploma course in ‘special education for cerebral palsy' from the academic year 2011-12.

The course, recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India, will impart training on physiology, anatomy, physiotherapy, speech therapy and occupation therapy.

The initial intake of students will be 25, including 15 girls.

Students who have passed Plus Two examination are eligible for admission to the course.

The maximum qualifying age for admission is 30, which can be relaxed for persons working in institutes for differently abled persons.

Explaining the prospects of the course, C.Shanthakumar, Director of the society, said that those completing the course would get employment opportunities.

Applications can be obtained at the office of the society in Revival Nagar, Ramalinga Nagar, south extension.

The last date for submission of filled in applications is June 15.
