The Tamil Nadu government has, in association with the Minorities Economic Development Corporation, decided to conduct free training in driving light motor vehicles (LMV) and heavy vehicles for the unemployed youth belonging to minority communities through the Institute of Road Transport (IRT) at the following places on February 23.

LMV training and interview: IRT, Taramani, Chennai and IRT Driving School, Tiruchi.

Heavy vehicle training and interview: Viluppuram, Vellore, Tiruchi (Tamil Nadu Express Transport Corporation), Pudukottai, Kumbakonam, Karaikudi, Salem, Dharmapuri, Erode, Pollachi, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Tiruchi (IRT) and Gummudipoondi (IRT).

Youth from Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist and Parsee communities, who have completed the age of 20 years, and whose annual family income does not exceed Rs.one lakh are eligible to undergo training.
