CHENNAI: The State Government has promoted six Indian Police Services (IPS) officers in the rank of Deputy Inspector-General as Inspector-General and announced new postings for some of them.

According to a release, Tirunelveli city police commissioner G. Uma Ganapathy Sastry is promoted as Inspector General of Police (IG)Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Chennai.

DIG-Training in Chennai Prateep V. Philip has been promoted and posted as IG Social Justice and Human Rights, Chennai.

DIG Vellore range R.C. Kudawla on promotion has been posted as IG (Headquarters) in Chennai in the existing vacancy. DIG Technical Services Vijaykumar is promoted and posted as IG Economic Offences Wing (Financial Institutions) in the existing vacancy.

Chief Vigilance Officer of Tamil Nadu News Print Limited, Kagithapuram in Karur district C. Sylendra Babu, and DIG Coastal Security Group in Chennai Karan Singha, who have been promoted as IGs, would, however, continue in the same posts.

The State Government also transferred the IG, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption ,T.K. Rajendran as IG/Joint Director Vigilance and Anti-Corruption in the existing vacancy.
