Tourism development works at Sithannavasal will be ready by June-end to receive tourists and children.
The works being executed at a cost of Rs. 37.84 lakh include setting up of an arch, musical fountain, waiting shed at the boat club besides road facility.
While Rs. 15.29 lakh has been deposited with the Tangedco for providing 3-phase power for the musical fountain, a sum of Rs.12.50 lakh has been allotted for the construction of an arch to the entrance of the Jain monument, and Rs.6 lakh for boat club. .
About Rs. 3.25 lakh has been allotted for maintenance and minor repair works of toilets and building a road facility near the Guest House on the campus.
Collector C. Manoharan inspected the works and advised officials to expedite the same.
Officials explained that adequate safety measures have been incorporated in the projects.
Later, the Collector inaugurated the power pump at Sendamangalam in Kothandaramapuram. He also inspected the ongoing rural development works at Perumanadu and Vayalogam.
