Tamil Nadu Pallivasal Paniyalargal Sangam (mosque workers’ guild) has appealed to the State government to simplify the procedure for enrolling as members in the welfare board formed by the government .

In a resolution adopted at the body’s State-level meeting held here on Tuesday, the forum said that a letter from the Wakf Board letter is now being insisted for registration, but there is lot of delay in getting the letters. If the procedures are simplified it will help hundreds of workers , the resolution said.

Government thanked

The guild thanked the State government for forming welfare board for mosque workers and providing rice for preparing gruel during Ramzan festival in mosques.

Financial assistance given to those who are above 60 should be increased to Rs.3,000 from the present Rs.1,000 per month, another resolution said.

A.M.S.Ahamed Liyakat Ali Nooriya, State president, presided over the meeting. C.Chandrakumar, legal adviser and State general secretary of AITUC, spoke.
