Members of Siru Nagai Vybarigal Sangam and members of Manitha Urimai Pathukappu Sangam staged a ‘silent’ protest by snapping their mouth with hands, to condemn Mahinda Rajapaksa, Sri Lankan President, for the war crimes committed against Tamils in the island nation. The agitation was also to express solidarity with the agitation spearheaded by the students in the State demanding action against Rajapaksa. The agitation held at South Main Street was led by Selvaraj, president of Siru Nagai Vyabarigal Sangam.
