The student's wing of the DMK has collected as many as 60,000 signatures from students, academicians and others against the government's move to shift the Anna Centenary Library from the newly constructed building in Kotturpuram.

A press release from student's wing secretary Ela. Pugalendhi said the four-day signature campaign between November 21 and 14 near various colleges, including Loyola College, Annamalai University, Madras Medical College and Law College in Chennai, evoked good response.
