Members from youth movements and activists' groups resorted to a signature campaign here on Wednesday urging the Union government to take steps to punish Sri Lankan government in International Court of Justice for its war crimes against Tamils during the Eelam war.

Organised by Youth Against War Crimes and Genocide, the members distributed handbills asking the Indian government not to ‘attempt' to save Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse in any manner.

Those who took part in the campaign included Salem district All India Youth Federation, All India Students' Federation, Naam Thamilar Iyakkam, Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam, Oppressed People Liberation Movement, and others.
