As a shot in the arm for women self-help groups in the district, the government exhibition under way at St. John’s Vestry School Grounds, has earmarked space to showcase their products.

There are around 25 groups selling a wide range of products at nominal prices, said a release issued by Collector Jayashree Muralidharan, requesting visitors to the expo to support the SHGs.

On display are imitation jewellery, kundan stone sets, women’s handbags, cloth and jute bags, soft toys, rugs, sarees with embroidery, terracotta, fancy candles and home artefacts. Food products such as masalas, pickles, herbal drinks, banana thokku, and biscuits are sold by the groups formed under Mahalir Thittam. The exhibition will conclude on June 24.
