Thanjavur: A seminar on Tamil Nadu traditional architecture and artists will be organised by the Department of Architecture at Tamil University here on March 28, according to C. Subramaniam, Vice-Chancellor, Tamil University.

Craftsmen from various parts of the State who are involved in traditional architecture will participate in the seminar, the Vice-Chancellor, said in a press release issued here on Wednesday. Engineers, Educationists, Archaeologists, architects will participate. Crafts persons like S. Karunanidhi Sthapathi, who built the Thamarai Temple vimana in America, M.S. Sivaprakasam Sthapathi, who built the Sri Rangam south gopuram, P.K. Sivakumar, architect, S. Subbaiah Sthapathi, Sripuram Porkoil work, Vaduvur Siva for pandal art and S. Subbaiah Mestri for architecture will be honoured.

Er. S. Rajendran, who propagates cost effective technology has made arrangements for the seminar and honouring of craftsmen on behalf of Salbagam-a voluntary organisation created in memory of U. Subramanian, former civil servant, he said.
