The Department of Communication, St. Joseph’s College of Arts and Science is organising a two-day national conference on media ethics and social responsibility on November 29 on the college campus.

The highlight of the event, which will be inaugurated by the former Chief Justice of India M.N. Venkatachaliah, will be the keynote address by eminent journalist B.G. Verghese.

Twenty-four scholars from across the country will participate in the conference.

The objective of the conference is to provide a platform for the academic community, journalists, and students. A release from the college said that the theme was decided in view of the several controversies involving corruption and paid news that have eroded the credibility of journalism.

The Hindu Education Plus is the official media partner for the event.
