Security arrangements have been strengthened for the visit of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, and General Secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Jayalalithaa, who will be here on Thursday to campaign for her party candidate P. Saroja.

The CM is expected to land at the playground of Holy Cross Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Ammapet.

According to the police, more than 1,000 policemen from eight districts in the western region of Tamil Nadu would be deployed under the Inspector General of Police, West Zone, S. Davidson Devasirvatham. These arrangements are in addition to the more than 100 policemen from Chennai who are part of the team that provides her protection under ‘Z Plus’ category.


According to senior party functionaries, the Chief Minister will begin her campaign at Minnampalli around 11.30 a.m., followed by Vellalakundan Junction, Vazhapadi, Belur, Karumandurai Junction, Kutathupatti, Valasiyur, Ayothiyapattinam and Udayapatti.

“She is expected to leave from the landing point between 4.30 p.m and 5 p.m. on Thursday”, sources added.
