With the objective of creating awareness among school students about science, a three-day winter camp began at the Regional Science Centre here on Saturday.

Through the use of common materials the students come across every day, simple experiments were performed to explain different concepts in physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, astronomy and environmental science

T.M. Alagiri Swamy Raju, Project Director of the Centre, said that students were involved in performing these experiments to help them develop a critical thinking and relate real life conditions with science.

I. Anwardeen, Conservator of Forest and Field Director, Erode Circle, was the chief guest at the camp,

He said that such camps help students learn the practical applications of the theories they learn in class.
