Schools receive ‘Forever Young'

A publication of The Hindu, ‘Forever Young,' a compilation of interesting articles and features that appeared in the supplement for children, ‘Young World,' were presented to 24 Corporation schools at a function organised at Kakkaipadiniyar Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School last week.

Six hundred copies of the publication, sponsored by oil major Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), were handed over to the schools by the Corporation Chief Educational Officer, V. Vaidyanathan, and A. Janki Ram, Chief Divisional Consumer Sales Manager, IOC. Mr. Vaidyanathan, in his address, stressed the need to acquire knowledge of English which he said was essential for every student. He also advised them to cultivate the habit of reading more books to build up their knowledge. Copies of the book would be kept in every classroom and library for the benefit of students.

Mr. Janki Ram advised the students to read The Hindu every day. He said the idea of providing copies of ‘Forever Young' was to help the students improve their English and general knowledge.
