Annual day

Yuva Bharathi Public School recently celebrated its sixth annual day. A release said Malarvizhi, Chairperson and Managing Trustee, VLB and Sri Krishna Educational Trust, presided over the celebrations. Sundararaman, Principal, Sri Krishna Arts and Science College, was the chief guest.

The school management took up a thematic presentation based on the ISA programme of the British Council. It was time travel from the Mesolithic Age to the modern age. An LED backdrop showcased the jungle and the cultural heritage of different countries.

Tournament

The 10 {+t} {+h} district level inter-school volley ball tournament got underway at T.V. Sekharan Memorial Matriculation Higher Secondary School. A release said S. Alagesan, Professor, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University, declared open the event. T.S. Harish Kumar, Managing Trustee, Sheik Sulaiman, Director and PTA president, and Sharifa Begum, Principal, were present on the occasion. Thirty-eight boys and girls participated.

Winners

Students of Shri Krishnaa Vithyalayam Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Pollachi, did the school proud by securing the first place in the divisional level quiz competition conducted by the Tamil Nadu Forest Department and Anaimalai Tiger Reserve. Students Bharathi, Anjali, Abirami and Navaneetha Krishnan received prize from C. Samayamoorthi, Collector, Tirupur.

Contest

Immaculate Heart of Mary's Matriculation Higher Secondary School held a colourful contest recently. A release said students from various schools took part in the event. Swami Harivaradhanandaji Maharaj of Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya presided over the function. He also gave away prizes to students who won the contest.

Competition

Mou Piya Saha, a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Coimbatore, and J. Sooriya, a student of Bharathi Matriculation Higher Secondary School, were the junior level prize winners of the Coimbatore edition of the Tata Building India School Essay competition. In the senior category, R. Nivedha from Venkatalakshmi Matriculation Higher Secondary School and A. Rohini from Hindustan Matriculation Higher Secondary School won the prizes.

In the Tamil competitions, Jeevitha from Government High School and M. Rathinavel from Corporation Higher Secondary School won prizes at the junior level. In the senior level, K. Anusuya from Corporation Higher Secondary School and Kanimozhi A. from PSG Sarvajana Matriculation Higher Secondary School won prizes.

Navarathri celebrations

Vijaya Vidhyalaya Matriculation School celebrated Navarathri. A release said Navarathri kolu with nine steps was organised. Parents and members of the public visited the doll exhibition. Students recited hymns and rendered devotional songs. Dances were also staged. On the last day, pre-KG students who sought admission on Vijayadasami were admitted after completing the rituals.

Shree Baldevdas Kikani Vidyamandir Matric Higher Secondary School recently celebrated Navarathri. A release said students celebrated the festival based on the topic, ‘Count your Blessings.' Students at various levels displayed projects based on ‘How we are blessed with rich resources in our universe.'
