Motivation programme

Kumaraswamy Matriculation Higher Secondary School recently conducted a programme on students' motivation. Leo Joseph, ISO – Head Auditor, spoke on the occasion. He said the students had to be clear about what they wanted to achieve. He also motivated the students by asking what they wanted to achieve in life, said a release from the school. Students posed questions to the visitor.

Fruits Day

Shri Meenaakshi Matriculation Higher Secondary School recently celebrated ‘Fruits Day'.

A release said each nursery kid contributed fruits, which were displayed with their nutrition value.

They were told about the importance of having fruits. Fresh salads and juices were given.

The school also observed ‘Guru Poornima'. Parents participated in the programme.

Similarly, SVGV Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Karamadai, celebrated ‘Fruits Day'. A release said a collection of fruits was displayed and children wore masks resembling fruits. The exercise helped the children learn about fruits. The same day students of classes IV and V celebrated ‘Grains Day'. Major grains grown in India were displayed. The students were told about the nutritional value of various grains.

Education Committee Day

The Panchayat Union Middle School, Peranaickanpudur, recently celebrated ‘The Village Education Committee Day'. A release said the Committee president R. Varadaraj presided over the function. Headmaster P. Venkatachalam gave the welcome address and spoke on activity-based learning and active learning methodology. Assistant teacher R. Balasubramaniam proposed the vote of thanks.

Vanmahotsav Day

Chandrakanthi Public School celebrated Vanmahotsav Day recently.

A release said the highlight of the day's assembly was a talk on trees. Students of classes I, II and III spoke on the significance of trees and ill effects of deforestation. Students planted saplings and learnt the names of the same.

Similarly, Dora Montessori School observed Vanmahotsav Day.

A release said each child sowed a seed in the pot given. During the course of the week they were thrilled to see the sprouts.

This made them take good care of the plant. The students were also taken for a ‘nature walk'.

Handwriting course

Chinmaya Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School recently conducted a course in handwriting.

A release said T. Sridharan of Veda Academy, Chennai, conducted the two-hour course, providing valuable tips on improving handwriting. K. Subramanyam, president of Veda Academy and former Principal of National Defence Academy, spoke on the occasion.

The school also celebrated the 60 {+t} {+h} birthday of Swami Tejomayananda.

Investiture ceremony

SSVM School, Mettupalayam, recently held its investiture ceremony. A release said Manimekalai Mohan, Managing Trustee, presented the school flag to the school pupil leader on the occasion. S. Mohandass, Secretary, was present on the occasion.

The newly elected school pupil leader, assistant school pupil leaders and vice captains of the four houses took oath.

Science festival

A mega science, arts and craft festival organised by Infant Jesus Matriculation Higher Secondary school, Tirupur, was held on its premises recently.

Working models on poultry farming, recycling of municipal wastes, among others, attracted the visitors.

In the arts category, pictures drawn by students on various topical issues adorned the gallery. In all, about 500 creations of the students of the school were displayed at the fair.

Workshop

Sri Kumaran Matriculation School, Chengapalli in Tirupur, conducted a workshop for teachers on its premises recently. Child psychiatrists and experts in children's education delivered lectures.

Family Day

Kids Club Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Tirupur, conducted ‘Family Day' on its premises recently.
