Mini-convocation and Sports Day events were held at Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal Golden Jubilee Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Sankar Nagar, Tirunelveli, recently. It was a visual treat to see the children competing with one another to win events like slow cycling, three-legged race, going to school and sack race. Novel obstacle races that tested both the physical and the mental ability of children were enjoyed by one and all. Prizes were distributed by William Winfield, former headmaster of Mill Hill School, London. The mini-convocation was held in the evening. Mayor, Tirunelveli Corporation, Vijila Sathyananth, presided over the function.

BMC Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Tuticorin, has celebrated its KG graduation day here on March 30. S. Selvaraj, former Principal of Kamaraj College, Tuticorin, chief guest, presented the graduation certificates to the UKG children.

The students took the oath under his guidance and promised to stand for the truth.

Administrative Officer I. Joseph John Kennedy honoured the chief guest and delivered the introductory speech by explaining the importance of the programme. It was an inspiring day of blessings for the children to aspire for their bright future.

The Headmistress G. Paul Kani presented the annual report on KG activities. A variety programme, including songs and drama, was also staged by the children of LKG and Pre KG. Parents, teachers and students attended.
