Annual sports meet

The 30th annual sports meet of Chinmaya Vidyalaya Matriculation School was held recently. A. Kaliyamurthy, former Superintendent of Police, and Thanga. Pichaiappa, principal, M.R. College of Arts and Science, were the chief guests. Chinmaya Mission Brahmacharis, Br.Sampoorna Chaitanyaji, Br. Sundarji, Br. Kootastha Chaitanyaji, were present on the occasion. Mr. Kaliyamurthy and Mr. Pichaiappa gave away prizes to winners in the presence of Deepak, trustee; Srinivasan, correspondent; and Geetha Parthasarathy, principal.

Students paint

their heart out

The talents of the Art Club members of SRV Matriculation Higher Secondary School were on display during ‘Vannacharal,' a painting exhibition. The students of standards VI to XI, who took part in the exhibition, used different mediums – oil paints, water colours and pencils – for their works that attracted the attention of the onlookers. A.Ramasamy, school president; S.Selvarajan, treasurer; B.Sathyamoorthy, joint-secretary and K.Thulasithasan, principal, appreciated the efforts of students.

Annual day celebrated with fun and frolic

Cultural programmes by students marked the annual day celebrations of Jegan Matha Matriculation School. Rev. S. John Britto, Rector, St. Joseph's College, presided. Rev.Fr. M.Chinnappan, principal, presented the annual report. Rev.Fr. R.Sahayaraj, correspondent, and A.Sundaraj, vice-principal, were present.

Two-day event marks annual day celebration

The annual day of Sri Vageesha Vidhyashram, celebrated with pomp, was a two-day event.

On the first day, B.Pugazhendhi, General Manager, Heavy Alloy Penetrator Project (HAPP) was the chief guest and distributed prizes. R.Maadhavachariar, correspondent of the school, presided. Prema Nandakumar, noted writer, was the chief guest on the second day.

K.Sekar, principal, Chidambaram Pillai College of Arts and Science for Women, presided. Prizes were given to students. T.S.Vijayasree, principal, was present.

Programme on children's problems

An awareness programme on ‘problems confronting young children' was conducted at BHM High School by the Social Work students of Jamal Mohamed College. T.S.K.Senthilkumar, founder, Anbalayam NGO, was the chief guest and Josva Jayakumar, headmaster, BHM High School, presided over the programme.

K. Sheik Fareed, assistant professor of Department of Social Work, offered felicitations.
