Boy proves prowess

M. Kirran Babu, a student of class IV of Kamala Niketan Montessori School, emerged second winner in level IB stream at the four national level SIP Prodigy 2011 programme organised by the SIP Academy at Chettinad Vidyashram School, Chennai recently. Over 800 boys and girls of nine years and above age participated in the event and proved their mathematical ability in abacus. Exams were conducted in three rounds.

Students bag title

S.M. Higher Secondary School won the volleyball title in the State-level inter-school tournament, conducted by the St. Anthony's Higher Secondary School, Manapparai, recently. Thirteen school teams took part . K. Raghunathan, secretary, S.M. Higher Secondary School; S. Krishnamoorthy, headmaster; and B. Swaminathan, physical director, felicitated the students.

Hand washing day

Global hand washing day was celebrated at the M. A. M. Matriculation Higher Secondary School and M. A. M. College of Nursing, both at Siruganur recently. Importance of hand washing was taught to students . M. A. Mohamed Nizam, secretary and correspondent of the MAM Group of Institutions, inaugurated. D. Kathiresapandian, senior principal, MAM Matriculation HSS, Rajathi, principal, MAM College of Nursing, Sirajunnnisa Begum, principal of the school, spoke.
