A group of 50 school students, part of a study-tour plan developed by District Collector C. Samayamoorthy to nurture love for science and nature in youth, began its trip on Wednesday to Bangalore and Mysore.
The team, from 10 government and matriculation schools in the district, was flagged off by Samayamoorthy at the Collectorate here. The project is sponsored by donors and parent-teachers associations. During the visit, the children will get to observe how the Indian Space Research Organisation Satellite Centre in Bangalore carries out implementation of satellite systems for scientific, technological and application missions.
The Mysore itinerary includes a visit to the museums that showcase history as well as culture of the city, and a trip through wildlife sanctuaries.
