ERODE: The State government will provide scholarships to the students belonging to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe to pursue their education in the private residential schools.
The scholarship will be provided under two categories. Students who have completed Class V could apply for the scholarship to continue their education from Class VI at a private residential school. One student from each block would be selected.
The government would bear all the expenses till the selected students complete Plus II in the private school.
In another category, students who had secured high marks in the Class X examination could apply for the scholarship to pursue their higher secondary education in the private schools.
A total of 10 students would be provided the scholarship. A sum of Rs. 28,000 will be provided as scholarship to a student in a year.
