KRISHNAGIRI: Integrated Village Development Programme (IVDP), a leading NGO based at Krishnagiri extended Rs. 9.06 lakh as scholarship to 177 children of 89 staff of the organisation for the first time since its inception. Mr. Kulandei Francis, president, IVDP, said the scheme was evolved to encourage the staff give good education to their children from pre-KG to professional level.

Anyone working for the organisation continuously for five years are automatically eligible for getting the education assistance. There is no bar on marks or number of children. The maximum amount of education assistance is Rs. 1 lakh. Accordingly, a child studying between pre-KG to Standard V will get Rs. 3,000. From Standard VI to XII Rs. 5,000 and to those pursuing college education will be get Rs. 10,000 a year.

M. Baskaran, Chief Education Officer presided over the function. R. Thirumalavan, Manager, Lead District Bank participated on behalf of Mr. S. Sadagopan, Deputy General Manager, Indian Bank, Dharmapuri Circle. .
