Labour movement discussed at meet

The State Bank of India Officers’ Association (AISBOF) organised a regional conference in the city on Sunday.

Y. Sudarshan, general secretary of AISBOF, inaugurated the conference in the presence of G.S. Narasimhan, deputy general manger of SBI, Madurai Module, and C.M. Baskaran, general secretary of State Bank Staff Union (Chennai Circle).

A free health camp was organised. As many as 500 delegates attended a business session where issues such as labour movement, trade union rights and several others were discussed. The association passed 30 resolutions which included adequate recruitment and regulating working hours for five days a week.

The members insisted on provision of food allowance, water allowance, sharing of profit, etc.
