State Bank of India on Monday donated an ambulance to Indian Red Cross Society, the Nilgiris chapter.

The ambulance fitted with a cardiac pace machine was handed over by the Managing Director, SBI, A. Krishna Kumar. It was received by the chairman, IRCS, K.R. Mani, and secretary K. Gopal. Among those present was the Chief General Manager, SBI Chennai Circle, Sharad Sharma.

A bank press release stated that the ambulance will be used for medical emergencies in rural areas of the Nilgiris.

Mr. Krishna Kumar also declared open the renovated heritage hall of the Udhagamandalam branch.
