The Tamil Nadu Government has announced the ‘Samadhan Scheme' to solve disputes related to assessment of value of properties in sale documents submitted for registration.
A release from the district administration said that documents pending with the District Revenue Officer (Stamp), Special Tahsildar (Stamp), or sub-registrar for value fixation as on July 31, 2011 were eligible for benefits under the scheme.
As per the scheme, persons registering the document could now pay two-thirds of the difference between the stamp duty fixed by the registering authority and the stamp paid for registering the document.
They could pay the differential amount through either bank demand draft or treasury challan between November 1, 2011 and January 1, 2012, when the scheme will be in operation.
Those availing of the benefit could pay both the differential stamp duty and fee right at the sub registrars office.
After issue of certificate confirming the payment, they could get back the document on the very date of payment.
The release also said that by doing so such people could avoid field inspection and other procedures related to value fixation of property documents submitted for registration.
