Function held to mark silver jubilee of Lancor Holdings
His company’s transparent ways of functioning commended
“The company has moved ahead with full honesty”
CHENNAI: Speakers hailed the contribution of chairman and managing director of Lancor Holdings R.V. Shekar to the realty sector at a function to mark the silver jubilee of the company here on Friday. They commended the company’s transparent ways of functioning and promptness in completing projects.
Delivering the presidential address, Sanmar Group chairman N. Sankar said Lancor Holdings had built a “sterling reputation” for itself. Recalling his association with Mr. Shekar, he said that in the mid-1980s, when the Sanmar Group decided to enter the space of property development, the company, which was on the lookout for an experienced professional, decided on Mr. Shekar. “Though he [Mr. Shekar] worked with us only for about four years, he calls me his mentor. I really appreciate that and it is indeed satisfying to hear nice words about one’s company from a former employee,” he said. Lancor Holdings stood for professionalism, modernism and good ethical values, Mr. Sankar added.
Chairman of DBS Corporate Services Shamsunder Aggarwal said that Lancor Holdings, that was earlier DBS Properties, had come a long way. “The company has moved ahead fast and with full honesty and transparency,” he said.
Ramco Group vice-chairman P.R. Venketrama Raja spoke of his company’s long and cherished association with Lancor. Mr. Shekar, who earlier welcomed the gathering, reflected on his early years in the industry and how Lancor grew as a company, with support from several associates. He also pointed to some of the social responsibility initiatives of the company, such as helping establish the T.N. Krishnan Foundation to promote music and supporting the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan wing of the School Education Department by building classrooms for underprivileged children in association with Madras Cosmopolitan Round Table.
CEO of Lancor Holdings Mallika Ravi gave the vote of thanks.
