A team of top officials of Atomstroyexport, which is constructing a 1,000-MWe nuclear reactors at Kudankulam, visited the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project site on Wednesday evening. The team was led by its president Valery Limarenko

During his 140-minute visit, Mr. Limarenko met his team of technocrats working in the upcoming nuclear park for the past few years and lauded their effort in completing the construction of the first unit of 2 X 1,000 MWe of KKNPP amidst “trying phases”.

Mr. Limarenko had a brief discussion with the KKNPP top brass, including Site Director R.S. Sundar on the possible synchronisation of the turbine with the grid (supply of 300 MW to 400 MW power to the grid) during mid-September as fine-tuning of all vital components of the reactor, steam generator and the turbine is complete.
