The Rashtriya Swyamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief, Mohan Bhagwat, as part of his three-day visit to Kanyakumari district, arrived at Vivekananda Kendra on Saturday.

He chaired a consultative meeting with the Kendra officials in connection with Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary celebrations on Sunday.

The president of Vivekananda Kendra, Parameswaran, vice-president Bala Krishnan, general secretary Banu Dhas, treasurer Anumanth Rao attended the meeting.

Later, he visited the Vivekananda rock memorial in a separate luxurious boat, being operated by the Poompuhar Shipping Corporation. He would leave Kanyakumari on Monday morning.

Security arrangements

The police have made three-tier security arrangements in Kanyakumari particularly in and around Vivekananda Kendra headed by the Superintendent of Police, N. Manivannan, to prevent any untoward incidents.
