PERAMBALUR: Perambalur district has been allotted Rs.8.16 crore under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Collector Anil Meshram has said.

50 works

About 50 works have already been taken up in the district so far.

20 panchayats have been identified as models for the implementation of the project. Four of the works have already been completed and the remaining works were under way.

So far about 67,206 persons have registered themselves for taking jobs under this scheme.

Job cards issued

In the model panchayats, 9,961 persons have been issued job cards and 5,976 of the registered persons have been provided employment, he said.
