A total of 130 persons will be benefited, each getting Rs.15,000
DINDIGUL: The State Government has sanctioned Rs.19.50 lakh for implementation of Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammayar Memorial Marriage Scheme in the district. About 130 beneficiaries would be benefited. Each beneficiary would get Rs.15,000 as marriage assistance said Collector R. Vasuki.
She was addressing a function after distributing marriage assistance to poor women in Chennamanaickenpatti village near here on Saturday.
The main objective of the scheme was to help women to complete secondary education, she said and added that the Government enhanced the assistance to Rs.15,000 from Rs.10,000.
The district administration had been taking massive efforts to admit all children to school. Special attention was paid to bring school dropouts back to school. Residential schools had been upgraded and many secondary schools upgraded into higher secondary schools. Education officials had been intensifying campaign in rural areas to create an awareness of importance of education. They campaigned among parents to admit their children to school without fail.
Special facilities would be provided at the Collectorate to assist people attending grievances day meeting. Officials would fill application forms on behalf of applicants and all identity cards and certificates issued by the administration would be laminated and handed over to beneficiaries freely. All formalities except verification of residential address for various schemes would be completed on the grievance day itself, she said.
Earlier, the Collector inaugurated a massive rally participated by thousands of students from various schools in Dindigul insisting parents on sending their children to school.
They, carrying placards, shouted slogans stressing the importance of education for all. The rally started from Nehruji Memorial Municipal Higher Secondary School and ended at Government Higher Secondary School.
