Rs. 4.95 lakh disbursed to kin of accident victims

The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corportation (TNSTC) Salem has disbursed Rs. 4.95 lakh to kin of those killed in accidents involving the corporation's buses.

A release from the TNSTC Dharmapuri Division said that A. Rajendran, general manager, gave the cheques to the affected family members in Dharmapuri under the State Government's New Accident Relief Fund Scheme introduced by the government.

Under this scheme, cheques of Rs. 1.95 lakh and Rs. 3 lakh were disbursed respectively to families of the accident victims Munusamy and Ramesh.

Munusamy died in an accident on July 27, and Rameshkumar on September 24, 2010 in accidents.

Quick decision

The officials appointed to scrutinise the claims took quick decisions to dispose of the cases. With the introduction of the new scheme, families of the victims were getting relief very quickly.
