Rs. 4.34 crore for black-topping of roads in municipal area
ERODE: The Erode Municipal chairman, M. Subramanian, presented a Rs. 2-crore surplus budget for 2006-2007 at the municipal meeting held here on June 1. The projected income for the Municipality was Rs. 55,37,42,000 and expenditure Rs. 51,38,28,000.
The municipal administration is expecting a revenue of Rs. 4.01 crore by way of property tax, Rs. 39 lakh as professional tax and Rs. 1.26 crore as stamp duty, entertainment tax etc.
The municipality is expecting Rs. 2.35 crore from the State Finance Commission as subsidy. Further, Rs. 1.10 crore was expected from cable TV tax, license fees etc. Capital income of Rs. 36.66 crore was expected from various schemes from the Government.
The municipal administration has granted Rs. 10 crore for the underground drainage scheme, Rs. 9.33 crore for commercial complex construction, Rs. 3 crore for vehicle purchase and Rs. 2.80 crore for the purchase of various materials for the municipality.
Rs. 75 lakh was allotted for the construction of a bridge in Erode and Rs. 4.34 crore for the black topping of the roads in the Erode municipal area.
