District Collector M.Ravikumar launched the Rs.20 per kg rice scheme at Amaravati Co-operaive Stores in Ariyalur on Wednesday.

Speaking at the function, he said the scheme would be implemented through the Amaravati co-operative outlets at Vellalar Street, Ariyalur, Arasu Cements campus, Ariyalur, Sendurai and Jayankondam. The district has received 215 metric tonnes of rice.

Those who took part include A. Karuppasamy, District Revenue Officer, and Murugan, Joint Registrar of Co-operative Societies.
