Focus on infrastructure; Seekuparai viewpoint to be spruced up

NAMAKKAL: The Collector, G. Sundaramurthi, said the district administration had allotted a sum of Rs. 2 lakh to develop the Seekuparai viewpoint and create tourism infrastructure facilities in Kolli Hills.

After visiting a number of villages in the Kolli Hills here recently, the Collector said concerted efforts would be taken up to improve existing infrastructure facilities in the Hills. Steps would be initiated to create basic amenities near Aakasa Gangai waterfall in order to attract more tourists. The increase in the tourist inflow would help improve the socio-economic condition of the people living in Kolli Hills, he said. Earlier, he interacted with the people in the villages, and assured them that the district administration would take all necessary steps to improve their living condition. He also distributed welfare assistance to the people.

The Project Officer of the District Rural Development Agency, K. Meharaj, the Namakkal Revenue Divisional Officer, V. Kanchana, and other officials accompanied the Collector during his visit.
