Rs. 1.42-crore free laptops distributed to students

The Akilesh Yadav’s Government in Uttar Pradesh has emulated the innovative scheme of Jayalalithaa’s Government of providing free laptops to students, said M.C. Sampath, Environment Minister.

He was delivering a speech at a function held in Periyar Government Arts College here to distribute laptops worth Rs. 1.42 crore to 1,040 students on Saturday. The Minister said that Chief Minister had launched many welfare schemes that had caught the attention of the entire nation. He called upon the students to put the laptops to the best use. Collector R. Kirlosh Kumar, Principal V.N. Viswanathan participated.
