Rotaract club members prove their mettle

Rotaract club members from various colleges proved their mettle at ‘Talentia 2013’ at Thanthai Hans Roever College here recently.

1,300 members

Over 1,300 members took part in the event which was jointly organised by the Rotary Club of Perambalur and New Gen Rotary Club, Perambalur.

M. Ramesh Praba, chairman, Galaxy Institute of Management, who inaugurated the event, said that a good way for youth to do away with distractions was to engage themselves in sports, dance or martial arts.

Hard work

Those found wanting on commitment to excel in assigned tasks need to learn the value of hard work and perseverance.

Prize winners of various competitions, including, solo singing, solo dance, group dance, mimicry, debate and quiz were awarded.

Identify talents

Film director Balaji Dharanidharan of ‘Naduvula konjam pakkatha kanum,’ fame, the chief guest for the valediction, encouraged youth to identify their talents and work hard for success.

Mr. Dharanidharan gave away the prizes to the winners in the presence of K. Varadharaajen, chairman, Roever Educational Institutions, and Y. Kumanan, governor, Rotary District 3000.
