Collector P. Sankar said National Service Scheme (NSS) camps helped in creating leaders by nurturing leadership skills, team spirit and tolerance in students. He was speaking at the valedictory of a week-long NSS camp conducted by VIT University at Alangayam and Tirupattur blocks on Wednesday. The Collector noted that NSS camps played a major role in moulding character of students.
Mr. Sankar observed the camps provided helped affluent students experience the real spirit of India by living among the poor and needy, according to a press release. Chancellor of the university G. Viswanathan urged the governments to create viable opportunities for higher education.
Among others, Member of Legislative Assembly-Vaniyambadi Govi. Sampath Kumar and Vice President of VIT Sankar Viswanathan were present, the release said.
