P. Raja of Puducherry has been given Odisha’s Rock Pebbles Award for his overall contribution to Indian writing in English.

The writer, who is teaching English literature at Kanchi Mamunivar Post Graduate Centre, Puducherry, received the award, which included a shawl, certificate, memento and cheque.

The Rock Pebbles Foundation of Odisha has mostly honoured eminent and creative writers of Odisha and Bengal.

Mr. Raja received the award at a function held at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, a few days ago. More than 5,000 of Mr. Raja’s works – poems, short stories, interviews, articles, book reviews, plays, skits, features and novellas – have been published in various newspapers and magazines.
