It has been so from the day a Metrowater pipeline was damaged at Kathipara junction

CHENNAI: Residents of a few pockets in south Chennai, including those in Adyar, Velachery and Besant Nagar, are complaining of dwindling water supply for over a week. They said the supply had been reduced right from the day a Chennai Metrowater pipeline was damaged at the Kathipara junction.

Residents of Gandhi Nagar, Adyar, said that there has been a drastic decrease in water supply since the damage to the pipeline that transported water to several areas in south Chennai.

The pipeline was damaged during execution of the work on a flyover by the National Highways Authority of India at the junction. A Metrowater official said water supply has been restored to most areas in the past one week. There may be individual complaints in a few pockets and action was being taken .

Mylapore, Velachery and Nandanam were some of the areas that were supplied water through the pipeline from pumping station at Porur.
