ERODE: Erode District Tax Payers’s Welfare Association has called for removing all encroachments in the city.

In resolutions passed at a recent meeting, the Association said to ease traffic congestion on Gandhiji Road, which leads to Railway Station, the Erode Corporation should remove encroachments and barriers on the 80 Feet Road that passes through Periyar Nagar and Karimedu, along Brough Road, CSI School and Commercial Tax office.

The Association has also called for removing encroachments on the road that connects Perundurai Road, near Ravi Theatre, with Railway Loco Shed and passes through N.G.G.O. Colony and Jaganathapuram Colony.

Removal of encroachments should also be done on Old Poondurai Road. It also wanted removal of speed breaker from unwanted locations.
